Library User Guide(English): Borrowing

In brief,

Bring your student (or staff) card to borrow or use the libraries services

Most loans are for 30 days, however some are for shorter periods

You cannot borrow if you have overdue books.

Renew or return your books on time to avoid penalties.

Borrowing

Loan periods differ depending on the item and borrower.

Undergraduate/Graduate 10 books / 30 days
Staff 10 books / 30 days
Researcher 10 books / 30 days
POSCO / RIST / POSE 5 books / 10 days
Faculty / Staff spouse 5 books / 8 days

 

  • Your student (or staff) card is your library card.
  • New books or Reserve items have varying loan periods of 7 days or 2 days.
  • Magazines (2F) and Journal collections(4F) cannot be borrowed.
  • Items can be returned via book drop box near the entrance of Student Cafeteria Building.

Renewing

  • Items can only be renewed if no holds have been placed.
  • Items can be renewed up to 10 times.
  • General loans can be renewed in the 14 days prior to the due date.
  • Items can not be renewed after the due date.
  • Newbooks or Reserve items are not renewable.
  • Users can't prohibited from borrowing additional library materials for the same number of days each item is overdue.
  • e-Mail notification will be sent 3 days prior to the due date.
  • Items can be renewed online via the My Library

Requesting Items

  • Holds on items that are out on loan or located on Closed Stacks can be placed via the library homepage.
  • Requests can be viewed or deleted through My Library
  • An automated email is sent to your HEMOS(university email) account once requested items become available.
  • Items remain on the hold shelf for 5 days.
  • To order items with the location 'Closed Stacks(5F)', it is necessary to complete a Request form.

Circulation Desk

Come to the Circulation Desk(2F) to:
- Return overdue, recalled books.
- Check out AV Reserve materials or Accompanying Materials: Videos, CDs.
- Collect materials you have requested.
- Issue a library card for spouse.
- Ask a question

Self Circulator

1. Your Student(Staff) Card is Your Library Card.

2. Scan Your Library Card.

3. Scan Books You Want to Borrow.

4. OR DVDs

5. Check the Complete Messages.
